Caring for our coast

Peart and Brake, - 2013, - EDS (?) , ?

Note: EDS recently published Caring for Our Coast, a comprehensive guide to coastal development. It’s authors are Raewyn Peart and Lucy Brake. It is a 250 page, full colour, hard cover publication and it won the Resource Management Law Association Best Publication Award for 2013. The book describes in some detail the environmental issues associated with coastal development, the current law and policy which applies, and key elements of best practice planning and development. It contains many practical examples which are illustrated with high quality photographs. An appendix sets out the full provisions of the New Zealand Coastal Policy Statement 2010 as a handy reference. Caring for Our Coast is the most comprehensive, up-to-date and accessible publication currently available on coastal development and management in New Zealand. We would therefore encourage you to identify it as a prescribed text or recommended reading for any courses you are offering which include this topic area. Caring for Our Coast currently retails at $75 (GST inclusive) a copy but NZCS members are able to purchase the book at the ‘EDS member’ rate of $60. This is at 20% discount off the RRP. You can order the book online via www.eds.org.nz or call the EDS office on 09 480 2565. Suggested for: WELLINGTON Managed by: Jensen , Gunilla Status: Accepted by the library
