During this period there has been no evidence of erosion caused by the mining activity as distinct from the normal seasonal beach changes. The method of operation of the mining plant is presently leaving the beach in a very disturbed state and making it inconvenient for recreational use except by trail bike riders. The otherwise healthy state of the beach indicates the mining license could be issued but more care of the condition of the beach and backshore is needed by the mining operator.
