In this report a number of possible methods of treatment of wastes and effluents have been described. The choice of a suitable system of treatment for any factory can be made only after a thorough examination of the conditions existing in an around the factory. The advantages and difficulties of each system are compared. A list of systems for the treatment of dairy wastes is presented. The systems in use in New Zealand are discussed.
