Otaraua Hapu prepared the "kaimoana surveying guideline for hapu and iwi" in partnership with Shell Petroleum Mining The guideline incorporates planning, setting of objectives, methodologies, implementation and reporting required for undertaking a kaimoana survey. The guideline also includes technical information on surveying methods recommended by Taranaki Regional Council and advice on consultation and communication with regional councils.
