In: NZOI translation / New Zealand Oceanographic InstituteSummary: The cruise was planned as part of a study on bottom-dwelling fish around New Zealand. Data were gathered for the distribution of hoki, Micromesistius australis and Merluccius australis to estimate the size of resource in an area offshore of the New Zealand east coast, and thence to enable the calculation of the optimal mesh size for these fish. The data will be useful for the utilisation and management of resources in the area. Also intended to be gathered were the data for the marine environment and topography of the area.
