Incomplete contents:
Within the area of northwest main Chatham Island covered by the prospecting application, the Lake Rotokawau sector is considered the most important botanical site. A core area of high quality is outlined by map, and the recommendation made that vehicular prospecting and trenching be excluded from it. For the whole area, biological survey should precede rather than follow tracking and drilling. The unique quality of the indigeneous vegetation of the Chathams is summarised. Archaeological and scenic values are noted. (auth)
