ANFIBO Base includes more than 2000 pictures of skeletal elements from 19 species inhabiting the East Antarctica coastal waters. A stand-alone software for Windows provides the identification support for systematic purposes through a systematic access to the pictures and an easy way to compare skeletal elements within and among species. By providing a new tool for diet analysis of fish feeding organisms, the ANFIBO Base serves for a better understanding of ecological interactions between Antarctic species, including fish, seabirds and mammals, and for reconstruction of the Antarctic food web.
Works on Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP. Requires at least a screen resolution of 800 x 1024. Probably it will work with Windows 95 too, but then for compatibility reasons at least Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 must be installed.
