Description of project on MfE's Sutainable Management Fund website: A non-statutory framework for an Integrated Sustainable Lake Management Strategy that is supported by the community and recognised by Tangata Whenua to guide the decisionmaking of all parties in a catchment area, including statutory management agencies. For the Lake Taupo-nui-a-Tia catchment, the principal outcomes will be: *The sustainable management of natural lake resources based on community and Iwi/hapu values *Participation of Iwi/hapu in decision making (Iwi/hapu exercising kaitiakitanga over taonga) *Mutual understanding between the wider community and Tangata whenua with regard to sustainable management and tools/methods of achieving it. -- Project number 2193.
