Finlay's "Report on the examination of the scales of Quinnat salmon for the determination of age and growth rate" as appneded to the report on fishereis for 1931. The obscurity of this paper and its value as the first paper of any consequence on New Zealand quinnat has necessitated a reprint and is produced as a companion to A. W. Parrott's "The age and rate of growth of quinnat salmon in New Zealand", Marine Deparment Techncial Report no. 63."
