International Antarctic Meteorological Research Centre. (1965-1969). (2011). In Trove The International Antarctic Meteorological Research Centre (IAMRC) was established in 1965 to carry out research into atmospheric physics over the Antarctic, with an emphasis on polar and hemispheric synoptic research, continuing part of the work of the International Antarctic Analysis Centre (IAAC), which closed in 1965. The IAMRC was led by H.R. Phillpot, Commonwealth Bureau of Meteorology. The Centre was disbanded on the creation of the Commonwealth Meteorology Research Centre.'In 1965 the Australian Government decided to set up a world centre of the World Weather Watch (WWW) in Melbourne. This relieved the IAAC of its analysis commitment, thereby enabling the research activity to be expanded. The Centre [was] accordingly re-designated the International Antarctic Meteorological Research Centre (IAMRC).' http://nla.gov.au/nla.party-1476153
