| Summary, etc | The Purukohukohu landuse basin, situated midway between Rotorua and Taupo, was selected as the site for hydrological investigations of afforestation of pasture on Taupo pumice soils. After seven years of tree growth there has been a 75 to 94% decrease in quickflow yield, a 70 - 90% decrease in peak flow and an increased delay of 55 - 70 minutes in the timing of peak flow from the small afforested catchment in relation to pasture control catchment. |
